WIPO has just implemented "Madrid Application Assistant", an electronic version of the official MM2 form that you must use to file an international application under the Madrid System. It allows users to import directly from the Office of origin’s national/regional trade marks database all the required information for their future international application.
Its main benefits, according to WIPO, are:
- It is a simple process, in comparison with the previous platform
- Faster completion
- List of goods and services is automatically translated and checked for classification
Currently users of the platform can select the following Latin American countries: Brazil, Colombia, Cuba and Mexico, as they are members of the Madrid System.
