IMPI Mexico receives its first Geographical Indication application

IMPI Mexico has just received the first Geographical Indication application in Mexico.

It has been published the application from the Oaxaca region to become the first Mexican GI for the production of alebrijes, tonas, nahuales, wood carvings and fantastic figures.

A geographical indication (GI) is a sign used on products that have a specific geographical origin and possess qualities or a reputation that are due to that origin.
