    Argentina – Europa: la Propriedad Intelectual como puente para su negocio

    Argentina representa un enorme mercado con numerosos potenciales clientes para las empresas de la UE que están dispuestas a internacionalizarse. De hecho, la UE es el mayor inversor en Argentina (principalmente en los sectores automotriz, de telecomunicaciones y de energía). El país latinoamericano ofrece estándares razonables de protección para los derechos de propiedad intelectual, pero aún tiene muchas particularidades que los empresarios deben tener en cuenta si desean tener éxito y usar la propiedad intelectual como una herramienta comercial rentable.

    El Latin America IPR SME Helpdesk junto con la Eurocámara Argentina y con la participación de IPKey Latin America organizan el seminario: Argentina - Europa: la propiedad intelectual como puente para su negocio. El evento se centra en la importancia de la propiedad intelectual para el proceso de internacionalización de las empresas.

    Los expertos en propiedad intelectual proporcionarán a las empresas participantes información puntual sobre cómo utilizar los activos de propiedad intelectual como herramientas clave para la negociación con sus homólogos comerciales en Argentina. Se explorarán las principales barreras de la propiedad intelectual para la internacionalización de las pymes europeas con sugerencias y alertas, así como detalles sobre la protección de marcas, diseños industriales, indicaciones geográficas, patentes, modelos de utilidad y derechos de autor. Por último, los participantes tendrán la oportunidad de escuchar la experiencia de empresas europeas que han usado la propiedad intelectual en su proceso de internacionalización.



    Argentina - Europe: Intellectual Property as a bridge for your business

    Argentina represents a huge market full of potential clients for EU companies that are willing to go international. In fact, The EU is the largest investor in Argentina (mainly in the automotive, telecommunication, and energy sectors). The Latin American country provides reasonable standards of protection for IPRs, but still has many worth knowing particularities to be noted by entrepreneurs if they want to succeed and use IP as a profitable business tool.

    The Latin America IPR SME Helpdesk together with Eurocámara Argentina and with the participation of IPKey Latin America organise the seminar: Argentina - Europe: Intellectual Property as a bridge for your business. The event focuses on the importance of Intellectual Property for businesses internationalization process.

    IP experts will provide participating companies with punctual information on how to use IP assets as key tools for negotiation with their business counterparts in Argentina. Main IP barriers to European SMEs’ internationalization will be explored with tips and watch-outs, as well as details on protection of Brands, Industrial Designs, Geographical Indications, Patents and Utility Models and Copyrights. Lastly, participants will have the chance to listen to peer companies that have used Intellectual Property in their internationalization processes.


  • The Latin America IPR SME Helpdesk is joining the business meetings and delegation tour between German SMEs from Saxony and companies from Chile, Colombia and Peru. TheIP expert will train Saxonian companies on how to protect and enforce their Intellecutal Property rights and assets when doing business in these Latin American markets.

  • The webinar aims to show EU SMEs how a Domain Name can be a profitable business tool in the Latin American markets. Attendees will have the chance to see how to avoid potential IPR infringements, protect their brand, understand more the Domain Name-Trademark relationship and have a practical overview of the UDRP proceedings.

    About the speaker

    Ms. Gergana Dimitrova holds a Bachelor’s degree in European Law from the University of Wales, an LL.M. in Intellectual Property from the University of Alicante (Magister Lvcentinvs) and a Postgraduate Diploma in Legal Practice from BPP University. Gergana currently works as a Legal Case Manager at the Internet Dispute Resolution Section of the WIPO Arbitration and Mediation Center. Before joining WIPO, she worked in both the public and private sectors, focusing on public policy and on furnishing strategic advice and developing the IP side of businesses, respectively.
