The Latin America IPR SME Helpdesk (hereinafter “the Helpdesk”) is a project co-founded by the European Commission (Hereinafter “the Commission”) and under the supervision of the Executive Agency for Small and Medium Enterprises (Hereinafter “EASME”) under the COSME Programme (2014-2020) and implemented by a group of public and private entities (hereinafter the Consortium).
The Helpdesk is committed to their users privacy. Policy on “protection of individuals with regard to the processing of personal data and on the free movement of such data” is based on Directive 95/46/EC of the European Parliament and of the Council of 24 October 1995 and the related provisions of the Spanish Law 15/1999 on Personal Data Protection.
You can browse freely through the Helpdesk website without giving any personal information. However, in some cases, personal information may be required in order to enable us to provide the requested e-services (e.g. Helpline service, Newsletter, Training…) In such cases, this personal information will be treated according to our Privacy Notice.

Who are we?
The Helpdesk is a project, co-funded by the European Commission, that offers free of charge, first-line support, information and training on IP and IP rights matters to facilitate the expansion of European SMEs (EU SMEs and SMEs from the Associated countries) already established at, or working with entities in Latin America.

Use of services that require registration
Any visitor may voluntarily register in the Helpdesk website. In some cases, the Helpdesk will require users to register in order to provide certain e-services. The registration implies the acceptance of this Privacy Notice and their terms herein.
Any user will be solely responsible of the accuracy and authenticity of the data provided to the Helpdesk. Neither the Helpdesk, nor the Commission, nor EASME will be liable of the consequences of the inaccuracy or misrepresentation of this data.
The user will be also responsible for any liability derived from the misuse of their own login details, namely their name and password.
How are we going to use your data?
The information provided for accessing such services will be used to provide the requested services and other related ones and will be treated for mere informative and statistical purposes and would not be used in any case for commercial purposes by any of the members of the Helpdesk nor by third parties.

All personal data collected by the Helpdesk are processed and protected in accordance with the Directive 95/46/EC of the European Parliament and of the Council of 24 October 1995 and the related provisions of the Spanish Law 15/1999 on Personal Data Protection.

The right to access, rectify or cancel personal data is to be exercised, pursuant to Spanish Law 15/1999 on Personal Data Protection, on written request to firstname.lastname@example.org and will be processed within 10 days.
Transfer of the data to the European Commission
Once the Helpdesk is over, all the information, including personal data, will be transferred to the Commission. By accepting this Privacy Notice you accept the transfer of the data to the European Commission. Please check European Commission Legal Notice for further information.
Changes on Privacy Notice
The Helpdesk reserves its right to modify this Privacy Notice at any time. Any modification about this privacy notice will be updated in this web site to inform users. If you do not agree to these changes, please do not continue to use the Helpdesk website to submit personal information.
