Last 22 May, the Senate in Brazil approved the adhesion of this country to the Madrid Protocol.
The Madrid Protocol is a scheme that allows the registration and management of trademarks worldwide.
Users of this system can benefit from a single trademark application in order to seek trademark protection in up to 120 countries.
With this approval, it is expected that the system will start operating at INPI in October.
