Brazil will have an intellectual property rights protection agency

The decree modifying the structure of the Ministry of Culture was published in the Federal Official Gazette on June 19. The Decree No. 9,411 establishes the Secretariat of Copyright and Intellectual Property that will act as a regulatory and oversight body, laying the foundations for the policy of copyright protection. The secretariat will also have a specific coordination for the development of articulated policies and actions to combat piracy and trafficking of cultural goods.
